Morandi is the New York establishment which offers that pick-me-up atmosphere everyone craves and loves. The low ceilings and overarching brick walls in this rustic Italian trattoria resemble a cozy and intimate wine cellar. Morandi is just as popular as Keith McNally’s other restaurants like Pastis in Meatpacking and Balthazar in SoHo. However, it feels more private and less touristy here. The glow throughout the room, stylish crowd and classic Italian pasta dishes create a rewarding evening. Stick with appetizers and pastas and stay away from the grilled shrimp entree –hate to say it tasted like soap. See a mix of celebs (successfully) blending in, girls in stilettos hungry for attention and relaxed diners absorbing the fabulous city vibe. Get wine and dine happy at Morandi for a refreshing and feel-good time!
***Scoop: Catch celebs and famous chefs drooling over the weekday breakfast: chocolate brioche, bruschetta with ricotta, crepes and breakfast pizza.
