Angelica’s Kitchen is definitely the quirkiest restaurant I’ve ever been to. Our waitress looked like she came from a 1950’s sock hop with her saddle shoes and knee-high socks. However, she gave us great recommendations and her spaceyness was highly entertaining. If you’re afraid to try vegan food, Angelica’s Kitchen is a great place to start. It offers a variety of fresh vegetables, beans, sandwiches, soups and salads and several are Asian-inspired. In addition, they use all local, organic ingredients, support family farms and have a cash only policy so that the money goes directly back into the farmers pockets. The speedy service, affordable prices and BYOB policy makes this an adventurous must-try for a casual night. The dragon bowl is a safe entree, and the balsamic vinaigrette saves the dish with its much needed pungent taste. If you want something more flavorful skip over to Dirt Candy, a trendier more creative vegetarian shop. Get over your fear carnivores! P.S. if you’re lucky you might spot Jake Gyllenhaal!
