The Smile is so homey and welcoming that while I was waiting inside for my friends to arrive, I felt like I was missing my house-warming/dinner party gift or something. The waitresses wear aprons and a fire place sits against the wall. Old-fashioned tomato cans and the house made granola for sale line the wooden shelves. The chairs are kind of tiny…as in not sure if a football player would make the cut. You are not rushed here at all, and the round table in the back right corner is private and perfect to spend the whole evening chatting in. The Smile is a great casual place to go for dinner if you just want to hang out, relax and not be seen. It’s the eggplant side dish that we fought over, and I really regret not trying the Salted Caramel Gelato!
